Hi folks.
I have two Front End Web Servers, two backend MySQL Database Servers (all
yet to be built, all Linux RH ES, Apache MyQL etc...)
The front pair are load balanced using a Cisco Load Balancer.
With this configuration (no shared disk array) what is the best method of
providing a resilient, reliable (24x7) and manageable database to support
this. Transaction load is not high - approx 8M per year.
I am looking at NDB - but not sure if this is supported with MySQL 4020 - it
also looks horribly complex to set up. But that could be my lack of
knowledge or confidence...
Another possible alternative is Database replication. However, assuming the
master fails, how do I get the app servers to connect to the slave. And how
do I bring the master back on line and recover the lost transactions?
Perhaps rerun the slave log files?
Any help, thoughts or guidance would be appreciated
