How to send a signal from MySql to VB

Hi,
I want to know if there is anyway to send a signal from Mysql to a visual
basic application. I want to know when there is a record in a particular
table, without having to do a query from the visual basic application every
two seconds.
Is there a way to send a signal to the VB application from Mysql?
thanks,

Diana Castillo

No there is no such way.

You need to query the database at a particular time interval.
