Storing photos in mysql

Hi,

Which is the best data type to store photos in mysql. BLOB is same as varchar type and increases the search time. Apart from BLOB, is there any other data type to store photos.

Not really. Read the MySQL reference manual.

Personally, I would not even consider it.
Place the photos in their original format in an accessible directory/folder.
Store in the database as 2 x VARCHAR the path and filename to the photo
