What does your table(s) look a like? What kind of content do you have
there? Examples please.

Where do you get record number? Is it a column in the same table? Column
in another table? A value which you can enter into the query the time
when you create the query.

If you want to update all rows in your table, the syntax looks correct,
if you have table called phone, and there you have columns id and
recordnumber.
