How to access Mysql server (LINUX) from mysql control center (WINDOWS)

mysql server is <172.16.27.39> running on Linux 9.1

I have installed mysql control center (client GUI) on 172.16.27.252
running on Windows 2000 advanced server

The machines are connected in LAN

When I open the
start>programs>mysql control center>mysql control center
to register the server

I provide the following information

Name: mysql
Host Name: <mysql server IP=172.16.27.39>
User Name: <root>
Password: <root password>
Port: 3306
Following error is thrown

Error 1045: Access denied for user@'r***@172.16.27.252' (using
password: Yes)
please note that
mysql server ip is 172.16.27.39
mysql control center machine ip is 172.16.27.252
PLEASE GUIDE -> HOW CAN I CONNECT TO MY MYSQL SERVER USING THE MYSQL
CONTROL
CENTER ...
