Hello mysql news group,
our debian mysql server 4.0.16-2 used within a cms configuration fills up the /var
partition, where the mysql.sock file is located.
because this is on a cluster that shares block devices over the net like a
net raid-1 (drbd) the mysql data /var/lib/mysql is linked to that shared device.
so there is no mysql data on the /var partition.
output of df -h :
/dev/sda7 4.7G 1.6G 3.1G 33% /var
this fills up till 100%. mysql ist then still running, but other apps have troubles.
in /var there is not that much written data actually.
output of du -sh /var:
240M /var
after a mysql restart both outputs are identical and the /var partition ist filling
up again.
kernel is 2.4.23-xfs,
system is debian stable,
mysql-server debian package 4.0.16-2
thanks for any hint in advance.
Regards,
Fabian Lienert
