MySQL slow query log

hi all,
I wanted to know few general details about MySQL slow query log.
My slow log has a statement like

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers

# User@Host: root[root] @ localhost [127.0.0.1]

here, what does this "[root]" signify? why is this needed?
I could not find any documentation expaining slow query log format.

hi,
One more thing, Database name is not logged in slow query log consistently,
"If a query contains a Dbname then in slow log, 'Use Dbname' wont be there. otherwise 'Use' statements are logged along with the query "
This is my observation.. Is this correct?

hi,
I have been trying to find out the documentation for mysql slow query log.. I want in depth explanation for every byte that is logged there.. sadly i am finding only general info..
