ERROR 2003

When trying to start mysql, I get a message that 'The service is already
installed. The current service installed is C:\mysql\bin\mysqld ".

Then when I issue this command "mysqld -u root -p" and put in the password
that I think is correct, I get a message error "ERROR 2003 Can't connect to
Mysql server on 'localhost' (10061).

Does this mean the password is wrong?

Is there a tool for finding the password, if I wrote it down wrong?

Thanks,
Fred

You probably just need to start mysql service. On windows, you can go to
command prompt (start>run and type cmd) and type "net start mysql" without
quotes.

It should start mysql service.

Hope this helps
