One last one mysqladmin

# whoami
root

Yet

shell> mysqladmin -u root password 'yourpassword'
shell> mysqladmin -u root -h yourhost.com password 'yourpassword'
mysqladmin: unable to change password; error: 'You must have privileges to
update tables in the mysql database to be able to change passwords for
others'

Yet I've logged in as root

Sorry again but I would really like to know how permissions are set. I'm
only used to how perms are set in the shell not MySql please explain.
