Showing columns of multiple tables

105 100+
After rummaging through mysqls website I've decided to ask the community.

Is it possible to show columns from multiple tables, eg:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. SHOW COLUMNS FROM table_A, table_B
Furthermore, is it possible to get information for selected columns eg

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. SHOW column_1, column_4, column_8 FROM table_A
Any help appreciated

Heya, aktar.

Short answer is no, but the long answer is, "Yes, if you have the information_schema database installed (which you probably do)."
