Migrating from Oracle to Mysql

Hi to all,

I am a VB Programmer. I used Oracle as my backend. But now I want to migrate from Oracle to mysql.

Can I ? Becoz, I heard that this is Open source. So need not to register from mysql corporation.

Is it true.

Reply any body.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles do not follow the Posting Guidelines actually get FEWER responses?).

You can download and use MySQL free of cost. You don't have to pay for anything.

It is almost entirely free.

If you only plan on using it on a web server or something similar, or if you are developing an Open Source application, MySQL is free under the GPL License.

There are, however, some situations that will require you to buy a commercial license.

For instance, if you plan on selling a product that includes the MySQL software you will have to get a commercial license.

Check out the MySQL Licensing Policy at mysql.com for more info.
