Getting started with implementing connection pooling

hi friends,
im using tomcat 5.5.23 ,mysql 5.0 server,connector/J ,jdk1.5....can anybody plz tell me how to do connection pooling coz im really confused coz all im getting is scaterred information...it wud be really kind if somebdy provide a working example of connection pooling i.e wat is the steps involved in connection pooling wat all jars will be needed ,etc...along with some useful links....i want to implement connection pooling in my project and m looking for proper steps to do connection pooling...plz help.....thanx in advance...
