How do I install MySQL 5.0 on Red Hat 9.0

P: 2
I am trying to install MySQL 5.0 on Red Hat 9.0 with no success. I have downloaded the server and client i386 rpm files from MySQL. When I run the command rpm -i MySQL-server-5.0.45-0.glibc23.i386.rpm errors are returned indicating that there are dependency problems. The error messages returned: is needed by MySQL-server-5.0.45-0.glibc23 is needed by MySQL-server-5.0.45-0.glibc23

perl(DBI) is needed by MySQL-server-5.0.45-0.glibc23

What is the preferred method of installing the MySQL package?
