Creating Grant Tables on WinXP

taf
Hi,

I've installed 4.0.13 on a WinXP system. The service starts and stops just fine, but I cannot connect to the server, nor can I ping the 3306 port. I think the problem may be failure to complete the post-installation processing. The doc says to run installdir\scripts\mysql_install_db. However that file looks like a Unix shell script, not a Windows .bat file (and windows refuses to run it)

Am I looking in the wrong place? Is there a Win script elsewhere? Do I have an even more basic problem?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Terry Fuller
