friends,

I would like to optimize the following query....as its taking 2 minutes to get the records.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. select  a.CODE "Code",
  2. ud.Name "Name",
  3. a.SchemeId "SchemeID"
  4. from (MASTER sh, MASTER_slave a left join
  5. OPERATION_USER mu on a.BASE_CODE = mu.User
  6. and mu.Role= ? and mu.OperationID=?),USERDETAILS ud
  7. where (a.MasterID = sh.MasterID) and sh.Supert_MasterID = ?
  8. and ud.Role=? and ud.UserId=a.CODE
  9. group by a.CODE

  • Create indexes on the columns involved in JOINS and WHERE clause
  • Use INNER JOIN with LEFT JOIN instead of comma, this may lead to unpredictable results in MySQL 5
