Can't open mySQLadmin

4
I've looked for hours on the internet for a cure, but to no avail. I've tried reinstalling many times but I can't seem to open mysqladmin or any of the other applications in the /bin directory. Whenever I try to open it a DOS window with some text on it flashes for a quarter of a second then disappears. It's like that for most of the applications in the /bin file. Some of the applications open for a second with nothing on them, then my computer beeps, and then it disappears. I'm running XP Home. Anyone got any idea on what's going on?

Heya, tsmike. Welcome to TSDN!

Did you install MySQL using a .msi installer file? If I recall correctly, the MySQL installer puts applications in your start menu that you need to use to access these tools.

That's because they are command-line utilities. Start a shell (DOS prompt, if you must) in that directory and type the command. You'll see what I mean.

Alternatively, get the GUI Tools for MySQL here.

Sorry, pbm, The server installation doesn't include the GUI interfaces (only command-line interfaces). See below:
