Encryption of user / pass in odbc.ini / alternatives

P: n/a
Content-Type: text/plain;

Does anyone know of a more secure way than storing the username and password
to the database connection within the odbc.ini ? We are using PHP on one
server connecting to a MySQL 4.0 database ?
