Installing MySQL 5.0 Help

When I install MySQL 5.0, it doesn't finish installing and it says to make sure I have opened the TCP port 3306, but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone help me please! Thanks!

Let's assume Windows with stock firewall:
Go to Control Panel:Windows Firewall. On the Exceptions tab is a list of ports. The ones with check marks are open ports of one kind or another. If MySQL is in the list, just check the box. If it isn't, Click Add Port..., name it MySQL (or what ever makes sense to you), put 3306 in the next box and ensure the TCP is selected. Click OK. That should do it.
