Configuration Files in Mysql

Hi,

I was tryig to install Mysql on Linux , but faced some problem first time so i uninstalled the Mysql and then installed it again. Mysql started working fine , however my.cnf is not in /etc/my.cnf in place of that i can see /etc/my.cnf.rpmsave. Any changes in this configuration file are not reflected , so where to find that configuration file??
