Does Select Statement Come Under DML

Any Body can clear me

Does the select statement in queries comes under DML if not explain, if Yes Explain

Hi,

DML is to manipulating the data.
DDL is to manipulate the structure of the table.

By using select statement we are getting the data resides in the table.
So,select statement is come under DML.
