MYI and MYD and frm file help needed

blush
2
I had a few sites go off line. I have now gotten the backup files from the previous host, and instead of php files. I have these MYI and MYD and frm files
and no one seems to know how to upload and use. My main download is a tar.gz file with all files inside of this. Can anyone direct me to how I use these type of files for uploading. I have been doing some google searching and am not finding the help I am needing. If someone knows some good tips for me or a site with more info on how to best use these types of files, I would sure appreciate it.

I am not doing this by myself! lol I am a complete newbie w/this stuff. but am trying to gather as much info on this for my online buddy that is trying to get this sorted. I have emailed the host about the files he has sent me, but I haven't gotten any reply on this matter yet.

I will hang out and see if anyone might be able to help in someway.

I cannot imagine that you couldn't find anyting on the web for this! Some googling got >1000 entries!

Anyway, you have not looked at the standard documentation for this: i.e. the MySQL documentation itself at www.MySQL.com. It contains a number of antries on the subject of backup and restore. Start with http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/...ore-table.html
