I have this VB program using MSAccess database.
Do i have to make major modification in the program? or can I create the MySQL database similar to MSAccess with same fields, tables, primary fields, then do i have just to modify the part in the program which would CONNECT to the MySQL database? the rest will remain intact like the relationship I have established in the code, the display of the fields, editing, etc.
I am asking this because I am not familiar in how an MySQL database looks like, if it can be made the same with MSAccess? Create the same field names, tables and database name?
Please advise. Thanks and more power to you guys.

The answer is not just that simple. Since MySQL is a relational db using standard SQL as the query language, you'll probably have to change some of your setup (indexes, keys, etc) and queries from your programs. But I assume that is not a problem that can't be solved.
When migrating to MySQL and still prereserving the MSAccess characteristics of your data and programs, you'll have to know a bit more about MySQL. Have a look at this thread, with a member having the same question: http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread567118.html
