ODBC -- call failed ERROR with ms access and mysql

1
i have an xp OS service pack 2
currently working on a project that uses ms access 2003 with mysql 5.0 backend...

i get an odbc--call failed error when I manually changed the system date in my computer....
I need to do this to test if my code works alright but instead the error occurs.....
sometimes the error will not occur but often times it will....
i will have to relink the odbc connection to mysql because i cannot access the tables after the error will occur.....I will have to wait for sometime for the connection to be active again...it's really a time consuming process to relink the connections again from time to time if will to test my codes....

can i prevent this problem from happening again????
is there a way to solve this???
hope you would help me get through this....
hope to hear from you all soon.....
