how to change date format

Hi

Pls help to change the Date format in mysql

Mysql default storage is yymmdd but i want to store mmddyy. How to change the format.

You dn't change the format of how it is store yymmdd is very handy because it makes comparison easy.

What you do is change the way that you display the date returned from the database.

This is easily achieved using the MySQL DATE_FORMAT function.

From your way the date storage is easy but in my project the design form is in the format of ddmmyy, so that i am asking this question any way thanks once again.


I have another one doubt, to store only year we have the data type year. But i want to store only month and year(no date) pls tell me, is it possible. if possible tell how is possible.
