I checked add/remove programs after the install and I saw mysql 5 there so I
uninstalled it to revert things. I think what has happend is it uninstalled
mysql 4 also because I don't see mysql as a service anymore. I tried
installing mysql 4 as a service again by typing mysqld-nd -install but now I
can't start the service.

Could not start the MySQL service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly.
please help. panicing :(
