Data recovery with just the MYD file

Due to a disk space issue, i lost the .MYI for a table. It seems the
..MYD is still intact. Is there any way to recover the data from just
the MYD file?

I think so, but I haven't had occasion to do this.
Read about "Easy safe repair" on this page:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/repair.html

It seems like you can run "myisamchk -r tbl_name" to rebuild an index.
