Where to get My SQL for Redhat 9

Hi

where can I get a free copy of My SQL. I'm running Redhat 9.0 on my
laptop. I looked at www.mysql.com but was a bit confused as to which
package I need to download.

You should find one from Redhat's package manager. Propably from the
same place where you upgrade, remove and install most of the software
you have on your system. Was it up2date or something other nowadays,
don't know. Ask from Redhat- or Linux-related newsgroups for more info
if you can't find it.

You could also download a version from MySQL website, but if you use the
Redhat package, it will be more easy to install and keep up to date.

I think you'll find there is a copy included in the distro. Even if it's
out of date you can then run up2date to get the current one.

I tried up2date mysql but it says that mysql is up to date, even though it is 3.23.xyz.

Perhaps this is because Redhat 9, the last free, non Fedora Core redhat is beyond its end of life.

Perhaps i need to upgrade to Fedora Core.

Or perhaps there is some generic rpm.

I hate the redhat end of life.

If someone knows how to get hold of a version of Mysql 4.18 or later for Red hat Redhat 9 then please let me know.
