business, they form the backbone of my web service,
however i would like to create an application in C++ to create an
application similar to this for store use.

MySQL offers a C API for application development, and there also exists
a C++ API that wraps the C API: http://tangentsoft.net/mysql++/
Alternately, you could try using ADO if you are a Microsoft developer.
It's (more or less) a C++ interface to ODBC. You can use the MySQL
Connector/ODBC to allow applications written with ODBC to access a MySQL
server. There's something to be said for this route, since your
application will be somewhat more standard. Other programmers who know
ODBC and ADO can more easily be found, when you need someone to take
over maintenance of this application.
any information regarding this eg connecting to the database etc , please do not hesitate to email me
(By the way, it's generally better to answer questions on the newsgroup,
so other people who may have the same question will benefit too, and the
question and any discussion or answers will be archived for future
researchers.)
Regards,
Bill K.
