REPOST -- DID NOT GET A RESPONSE TO THIS! PLEASE HELP!!

Hi,
I've recently installed MySql 5.0.2 on a WinXp box and am always
getting the error "Error While Fetching Schema Table Status" every time
I click on a schema in the Catalog.
I can log on to the db fine, it always happens when I click on a
schema.
I've been struggling with this for hours....any and all help will be
greatly appreciated.

If I install 4.1.x it works just fine, so I know it is something to do
with version 5.
Thanks!

Have you seen this bug?

http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=2759

It claims that this bug is fixed in MySQL Administrator 1.0.2a (they're
now up to 1.0.19). Perhaps you could resolve the issue by upgrading to
the latest MySQL Administrator version.

I am using 1.0.19 currently....so I'm not sure if they fixed this or
not.

I'm just pulling at straws here since my MySQL and XP knowledge is
limited... however I would find the directory location where your schema
resides, and check that the database server has read/write access to it.
I guess it should, however I've had problems once on my XP laptop
which uses MySQL v4 and I put it down to restoring a backup and using a
non-Administrator username to perform the restore of a full schema
directory.

Its just a hunch that might be worth trying...

I wish I could say that was it, but I installed version 4.1 with the
same logged in user as when I installed version 5 and did everything
the same way and it worked with 4.1.....It's something to do with
5.0.2.....There's another person in this group had the same problem and
never saw a response to his post, so I'm not the only one with this
issue.

Thanks for the idea Randell!

If anyone else has an idea please let me know!!! would like to start
using version 5. Thanks!

Michael
