Size of Text Field

Hello.

Each time I create a record with a Text Field, does it take up the
entire 65535 bytes or just use what it needs?

Thanks.

Hello, I am starting to examine using SQLServer instead of Oracle. I went through the SQLServer import utility to copy tables from Oracle into SQLServer. I then checked the size of the database. I then started to specify indices for the tables. I did not see the database file size grow all that much. I kept on using the shrink command to make sure that wasted space was removed. I even made sure that minimal free space was allowed.

Hi all, I am having an issue with different versions of IE and the size of text in an INPUT field. Basicly I have a field that looks like: <TD colspan="2"><INPUT class="fieldAlignRight" TABINDEX=12 size="9" maxLength="10" type="text" name="BirthDateTextField" onFocus="promptSave(true)" value="<%= birthDate %>"></TD> The class fieldAlignRight is defined in the CSS as INPUT.fieldAlignRight {font-size:10pt;

I have a database in which I have 2 tables. One table is Employees, other is Events. I have only one field in Employees and it is EmployeeName (text 50 chars). Events has fields AutoNumber, Start Date/Time, End Date/Time, EmployeeName. I have relationships EmployeeName from Employees 1 to many for Events. My question is: Does every record in Events table take space for EmployeeName or is it coded

Hi Folks, I am totally confused about the following: 1. Is it possible to change the size of an EXISTING TEXT table field in Access 2k or later using DAO or ADO code? 2. If so, does anyone have some sample code? I have ransacked all my documentation to find the answer to no avail. Please advise ASAP!

Hi everybody! After searching newsgroups for a couple of hours, I now try asking directly (running the risk of asking again the same question). My problem is to predict when the size of the database (1GB I expect) is over 1GB by calculating the maximal number of data sets (tuple) added: 1. Is the following calculation for estimating the mdb file size in Access 97 correct: 1 integer field = 4 Byte

Hi All, 1. I have been reading and the max size of a tuple is 8K. I have also read that I can it to a larger size in some config file. Where is this file? is it called pg_config.h and is the variable called BLKSZ?? 2. Is there a way I can find the actual size of the tuple? Do you go into each column and find the length of each value and sum it up? I am out of ideas.. if someone knows how please shine some light on my situation..

Hello, Im want to fix the width of a dashboard. I have a field which has a field (in this dashboard on the left part of my screen) which could be long and make the right side of the screen out the display. I wanted the size of the fiedl QueuedCountLabel fixed and the text inside wrapped up and/or the dashboard itself with a fixed width. I was trying a syntax as below:

Hello, How does one adjust the input field size (height) in a form, say to accept 10pt rather than the 12pt txt that apparently is the norm. Thanks --Adam--

I tried to build a "form" layout without using table like this http://www.coolshare.com/temp/images/css.jpg In order to get the layout, I need to set the light blue area at each line to a fix size so that I can align the label of each field to against the text field (kind of center alignment) even in case the size of text field vary. That is, with the label area (blue area) size fixed, I can

Is there a way to save Location and Size into a single text field, on I need 4 Field X,Y,Height and Width? If yes, how can convert Location and Size into String and then Back to a Location and Size to apply back to the form?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
