Create a shortcut icon in window mobile 5.0 from CAB file installation

P: 32
Hi,

I am trying to create a shortcut icon on Today in window mobile 5.0.
I have a CAB file which will install the program and create the shortcut icon in Today. The CAB file sucessfully install the .exe program and drop the shortcut on the Today folder.

The problem is that the shortcut icon doesn't show up on the Today List (the main screen) after the CAB file is installed.
When I checked on the Today folder, the shortcut is already there and marked.
Then, I clicked ok .... and go back to the main screen, it showed the shortcut icon.

I don't know why the shortcut doesn't show up on the main screen w/o going to the Today folder and click ok.

Any ideas or suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Is the shortcut still there after a device restart? Or do you have to go there each time?

I don't need to go there each time I restart.
Only one time I need to go there after installation.
Thanks.

Hmm sounds weird... have you tried building that CAB to force a restart after install to see if this refreshes the list.

It sounds like the list isnt being re-freshed until you visit it.
