Hello,
I need help with some password changes that I have to do in some iPAQs.
The company that I work has 3 models of iPAQ and 3 different versions of Windows Mobile (Microsoft Pocket PC 4.20.0, Win Mobile 2003 SE e Win Mobile 5.0).
The devices are configured to use Dial up or Cell Phone connection (Bluetooth or infrared).
Recently we developed a program that check the user password expiration date in Active Directory Server every time the user connect the device, if the expiration date is <= 3 days the user has to change the password.
The program check if the new password is valid (according to the security policies) and then the program notify the user if the change was completed successfully.
After that the user has to change manually the ActiveSync Password, which is used to connect to the exchange server, change the outlook mailbox password, which is used to connect the pop3 account, and the dial up (ras) connection password.
I’d like to know if it’s possible develop a program that automatically change these passwords configured in iPAQ, when the user change the network’s password.
If someone have any idea of how to change one of these passwords please answer my question. It doesn’t matter if the solution is in C++, C#, VB…
Any answer will be very helpful, because I didn’t find anything useful in my researches yet.
I’ve found the registry entry that store the Active Sync and the RAS password, but I don’t know if is possible to override these information in the registry.
The Active Sync Password entry in the registry is:
- HKeyCurrentUser\Software\Microsoft\AirSyn\Connecti on\password
- HKeyCurrentUser\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSyn\Partn ers\{4F…}\password (Win Mobile 5.0)
The Ras Password entry in the registry is:
- HKeyCurrentUser\comm\Rasbook\[ConnectionName]\password
- I didn’t find this information in Win Mobile 5.0
Thanks
Michelle Santos
