I am new to mobile development and am having some trouble sources for the tasks I need to perform.
I have been looking around and I can find plenty of information on copying the file initiating on the PC end, I need it to initiate on the Mobile Device end. I need the handheld to be the device that is initiating the file copy as it is the only one that knows the name of the file(s) to be copied. I have found numerous references to using RAPI commands on the Desktop, but I can find no information on how to build a program to initiate the copy from the handheld.
I can't just use an Active Sync file folder, or the handheld will fill up with old datafiles (whose information can be viewed at any time in the app itself) and files from other customers (this is a multi customer tool).
In a nutshell, I need the program to extract the data from the SQL Mobile database (not an issue, I have this part handled), format it into what the system on our end is expecting (again not a problem), save this text file to a location to be found later, when an Active Sync connection is made (not a problem, I know how to watch for this), copy the new files to the PC on the other end of the Sync and then delete the text files due to space concerns. I am using VB.net.
