1 New Member
Hey guys, I just found this new Navigator Competition which challenges people to come up with an ideia to create an app that can make the digital world and office paper work together. The awards are amazing! The best idea will be awarded $20,000 USD, the runner up $7,500 USD and the third place $2,500 . If you want to participate, just need to access the challenge page: http://bit.ly/APPCHALLENGE

Hello there, I have a bound-form using Navigator so that the user can move back and forth to update record in the form. Every time a record was modified and the user clicks the Navigator to either move backward or forward to the next record, a message is popped up asking the user to confirm the change. If the user clicks "Yes", the record should be updated and the Navigator takes the user to the next record as clicked. If the user...

At the page: http://www.strath.ac.uk/IT/Docs/Ccourse/subsection3_8_3.html#SECTION0008300000000000000 or http://tinyurl.com/4ptzs the author warns: "The for loop is frequently used, usually where the loop will be traversed a fixed number of times. It is very flexible, and novice programmers should take care not to abuse the power it offers."

Hi, I'm picking apart the Yahoo! UI event.js library and stripping it down to just what I need. I'm also trying to make the parts I use better. I'm stumped on how to fix the code for the getPageX() method. This method is supposed to give the same value in IE as other browsers for the event position relative to the left of the page. This value will be greater than the position relative to the left of the browser if the browser is...

I had an idea but no time to think it through. Perhaps the under-under name mangling trick can be replaced (in Py3.0) with a suitably designed decorator. Your challenge is to write the decorator. Any trick in the book (metaclasses, descriptors, etc) is fair game. Raymond -------- how we currently localize method access with name mangling

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
