Help with choosing the right topic!!

Hello,

I don't know where to post the following query:
"A friend of mine created a Lotus Approach database where all his clients' data is stored.
The data is now located in an Excel spreadsheets.
We would like to create a website where his customers can access their data via a username and a login.
I am familiar with designing websites but I never connected it with a database.
Can someone advise me further?"

At the moment, I also have problems posting threads on this site.

Thanks for your help!
