trouble with installing roller coaster tycoon 3

when I am installing roller coaster tycoon 3 half way through it it comes up with component transfer error and then automaticly cancels the installation
any ideas

Is the CD scratched? Or is your harddrive full? Both could cause such problems while installations. If you know someone else with a CD, you could try using that to see, if it's your CD.

Otherwise, it would be helpful if you'd post a bit of information about your OS. (Windows probably, but which version? Is it fully updated?)

well i tried installing my rct3 games but it didn't work so i tried installing my friends and it came up with component transfer error.they both work on her laptop and computer, they both work on my computer and my nans computer but it doesn't work on my laptop? any ideas why?

I just checked and the requirements are:
733 MHz-Prozessor, 128 MB RAM, 856 MB, 32 MB RAM-Graficscard, 16-Bit Soundcard, DirectX 9.0

So in other words, if your laptop isn't quite a few years old, that shouldn't be the problem. But you can check all of these things by doing this:
  • Click Start -> Run
  • enter dxdiag and press Enter (or click on OK)
  • The window opening now will check your system and you should be able to find all of the information you need.

All games have requirements that you computer has to meet for them to run. Some of those are your graphics card, how much space you have left on your HD, etc.
