How to Access Groups

2
When I try to access a group such as:

http://bytes.com/groups/
or
http://bytes.com/groups/net-c/

I get the following message:

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:"

Can someone tell me what the groups are and how I can access them?

Thanks!

Why do you ask?

Those are our newsgroup archives, accessible through the Archives link at the bottom of the page.

Since I'm new here I was wondering what the difference was between the groups and the forums. Are the groups something of the past, which is why they are archived? I saw that there was a .NET forum, but since I was more interested in C# I wanted to take a look at the .NET/C# group, but when try to access via the url above I got permission denied.

The archives are actually from newsgroups, so they aren't something you can post to...if you want to ask questions or provide answers, you will need to visit the .NET forum.
