Word document with restirction

Hi

Some Word Documents are locked - you can not change font, do any editing, etc. This probably is done using VBA.

My question is: Is there a way to open such a locked work document without any restriction and locks?

Regards

I'm not sure but usually they are locked for a reason. Because usually when a document is locked its because the creator only wants you to be able to write in certain areas and keep it restricted, for filling out forms and such.

Either they are read only in which case all you need to do is change that property or they have been intentionally locked by their author in which case unlocking them could potentially be illegal.

The reason for unlocking my document was to fit in all the text within one page. With current settings, 2 pages are created when i enter the text. So i wanted to change font size, etc.

I think there must be a way to unlock it by some means??!?

as it was already said: in case the author has locked the document then he don't want you to change it ... even not the layout ... would you have asked this question in case you would have a printed document ... which is locked by default. you simply should accept that right of the author of the document, or ask him/her to give you a unlocked version ...

kind regards
