Help with Search Form

Hello, I am new here and I hope I have the correct forum to answer my question.
I am creating a website for a friend and they need a "Search Form" so that visitors can search for items on the website rather than searching the entire website to find what they are looking for.
I know about my HTML/XHTML and CSS coding and the basic coding for a Search Form. What I need is help with any other files needed to make my Form a workable Search Form so that the visitors get back the results that they need, as I am not too familiar with working with forms.
Please feel free to check out the website in question, which is on my website at this time for preview purposes and testings.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

HTML will only display the data for you. You will need a programming language to handle the processing of the form data. Do you know any languages?

No, sorry, I only know my basic HTML, XHTML and CSS. Forms and other computer language is very new to me.
I would be very keen to learn more. How easy is it ?
Any more help would be appreciated.

I am sure that there are some FREE script on the web at hotscripts or alike. Just do a search for "Free Scripts".

Moving thread to Misc. Forum.

Thanks again Kevin, appreciate your continued support and time.
OK, not a problem to search for these free scripts, but I do need a little help knowing what specific scripts to look for and "installing" them (or adding to HTML files or whatever else needs to be done). I am pretty new at this type of scripting.
I believe that I need to add some sort of "declaration" in my HTML files to locate a search.php file, so I hear from another source.
Any more help would be appreciated.
I just want to make sure that I have everything that I need to make this work.
Thanks again.

Jay
