PSP Won't Turn On Only Green Light

I was playing a game on my psp, then put it into sleep mode for about 30 minutes. After that it won't turn on. When i hit the switch, the green light turns on and stays on, but thats it. I can then hold the ON/OFF switch for about 12 seconds then the green light turns off. I have tried taking out and changing the battery, taking out the game and memory card, charging it and using it on only AC power. Any idea what could be wrong, or if it could be fixed?

so many thing can go wrong with electronics. I am by no means an expert and have never used a psp for any length of time but it is possible among many other things that the screen is not functioning for some reason? try running it without a game in if you haven't done so already. if you see something the game might be at fault.

Does it have sound? if there is sound you know its working w/o the screen.

try to isolate potential problems in this fashion.

If its under warrenty and it still wont work remember that you shouldn't attempt to fix it yourself as doing so will only void your warrenty.

I hate this mentality of when a console doesn't work it must be "BRICKED". If you were not updating the firmware or hacking it when it stopped working, or dipped it in toilet water, then it is not bricked. If there is light then there is more hope then when there is no light at all.

My PSP 1000 also did the same, I tried switching it on and got the Green light for a few seconds and went off, I tried everything and spent over a week hunting solutions, I was in the process of opening it up and if that failed I was going to bin it thinking it must be Bricked, but then saw a little white latch under the battery section on the other side of the charge port, so I pushed it down as far as it would go with a nail as I felt I had nothing to lose and KEEERRR POW, when I tried it again it worked fine. So don't give up and never listen to the fellowship of the Brick Brains as they have no clue.

All was once again calm in the land of PSP

THE END
