robot testing, software testing, gui testing

hi ;)
yesterday i've spend all day on looking for a test application like this:
automaticly testing gui of the system (every 2 sec) I am looging for the external application wchich will check every 2 sec if it can click the button on the gui of the system (not operating system) If it can't it means that there is a problem with connection
Do you know any application like this? freeware or else?
let me know ;)
thanks ;)
