Very Basic ASP HELP needed

Hi all - before I go further let me stress that I am enormously ignorant (as u will no doubt see) but driven by necessity to get a web page going by month end. I've got the basics going ok, but need to do the following: a drop down box which lists categories, e.g. painters, bakers, etc, so that clicking one of these will bring up the list of service providers in that category and their details. (obviously from a database) I also need a very simple rating thing e.g. click on the happy face or the angry face and that click gets added to a "running total" i.e. that service provider's current rating. Not "higher grade" I know, but I have had not web training whatsoever, and so far all the tutorials I have found assume that I know the basics - if I had time (a future project) I intend to go into all of this but right now I am desperate. Can someone please point me in the direction of a tutorial or something that can help me get this put together asap, as it's becoming quite critical and I seem to be more confused rather than helped by it all. No doubt it's all very helpful but right now it's pretty much a foreign language. Thanks in advance, I hope to hear something soon
