A dissertation is something you'll want to spend a lot of time working on. I'd suggest something that actually interests you otherwise you'd spend lots of time working on something that bores you.

I need some help too. I am taking Bsc Business Computing. As I have to do my dissertation/project for the final year, and i have to do something related to IT and Business.. such as a e-commerce platform..or whatsoever... i have got no good ideas on what to do. I have thought of some ideas, such as "The impact on IT Strategies by implementing Sharepoint 2007." (But need to build something... so building a Sharepoint system...would be hard, right?) Or having something done in .net language. But I would like to know any suggestions from you guys that are always doing projects and have experience in the both worlds.
Much Appreciated! :)

Heya, djksac.

How about, "Integrating XML into applications for more than buzzword compliance." Management fads are a fact of life, and XML has seen the limelight for some time now. In its wake, it has left scores of poorly written XML interfaces that did little more than make the programmers' lives difficult without really taking advantage of any of the benefits that XML provides.

Or on a similar note, "Chips and Toast: Getting your apps talking to one another." Propose a standard for allowing applications that may have very different functionality to talk to each other. I'm reminded of nightmares such as this one.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, and now I have to go to work.
