Should I download in Unicode or ASCII?

when downloading programs and shown a choice of ansi or unicode which should I utilize ????

The rule-of-thumb is: "if you don't know what unicode is, you don't need it". Get the ANSI version.

Hi
check where and in which Human Language is the use of programs. If you wants in in English and Europian Languages then you go ahead with ansi. But if your use is other languages then choose UTF-8.
