Do you always have to open excel before you can read/write to it?

Hi all,

How can I check if I have an excel speadsheet already open? and if it is, how do I read write from it straight away?

All I have managed to do is ensure that the excel spreadsheet is closed then open it again with my vb app.

Please help

Hi Rob. I've moved you question to the Miscellaneous Questions Forum (for lack of a better place - and it's better than the Member Introductions Forum).

You may want to pose this as a VB question in the Visual Basic Forum.
Thanks for joining.
