Act 6.0 files with .blb, .adx, .abc, .dbx, etc. endings

Did Act & company destroy my 2,000+ database of names, etc. on me because
I didn't sign up for the newest version or did someone simply get into my computer system to have the sheer joy and pleasure of destroying my ACT database?

And what do I need to do to recreate the files or is it too late?

Thank you, chrisreynolds123456

My money is on the sheer joy.
Dear KevinADC,

Thank you for giving a few moments of heartfelt laughter. I needed that.
Now who can tell me if and how to open/reconstruct my database for
the sheer joy of it?

There is no possible way ACT destroyed your databse because you didn't upgrade to a newer version. That would be asking for a law suit they couldn't possibly defend themselves against.

Do you have a backup copy of your database? If not, my guess is you are screwed. You can check this link and see if there is any useful information.

or look around on the ACT website for any other useful information.

As a technical question this does not belong in the cafe. I'm moving it to the Miscellaneous Discussions forum.
