soft ware for allignment of data in Note pad and then copying pasting it in excel

P: 2
We have names and addresses data base of people across the world in note pad in vertical form as under.
name
Designation
company name
Address 1
Address 2
City
pin code
Country

I am looking for developing a software to make this data base into horizontal fomat and then copy /cut and paste into excel as per respective field by an automated process.Currently this is done by using key operations of cut and paste. however this is time consuming.
My questions are:
1) Is this possible to mak ethis process automatic? if so, which langyuage/technology? Can any one give hints where to start?

I am a layman in "software" however have engineers employed who can start doing with some tips and hints.

I'd say that Excel macros may be a pretty good way for you to go. With macros you can record the keystokes that you use to perform the task and the play the macro (which is really a VB program) to achive automation.
But let's see what others might have to say on the Techie Talk Forum....
