Server for hosting games

its me again, Jimmy. I wanted to get feedback and info on if I should by a server for hosting games. I am really dumb at when it comes to servers and databases, but i wanted to know how I have to set it up for hosting games off of it and really how it works. If anyone could c/b on this post I would like if someone who knows about the databases/servers to enlighten me on how a server works, what i need, how to set it up and so on......

Thanks....again,

Jimmy

Jimmy,

A man after my own heart.
There are a number of server hosting companies out there.
I'm curious as to why you might ask this with reference to databases.
When you hire a hosted server, the hosting company will look after all issues to provide game for you.
Perhaps you could respond with a fuller idea of exactly what you're after. The particular game you're interested in would be useful too.

If it helps for now, I'll PM you a link to the company that hosts my gaming server (I'm an ET man myself). BTW Thats 'Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory' in case that's not your area. I won't post it on here as it's a commercial site and I don't think that would be appropriate.

Good luck

NeoPa.
