I have been retained by Gaia online to find them a PHP programmer (San Jose, CA). Gaia online is the first and largest virtual world for teens. In three years, Gaia has grown to over 4 million registered users and over 2 billion page views a month- all through word of mouth, with not a penny spent on marketing or PR. And the company is profitable. Recently Benchmark Capital (eBay)and Redpoint Ventures (MySpace) joined the board to help the founders accelerate product development and Gaia's growth. PHP Programmers to work alongside with our creative team in
paving our next wave of features and implementation.
A strong background in designing database driven applications
is a must for this position, with strong communication skills
and ability to brainstorm with the creative team on new ideas.
Responsibilities:
Developing new solutions using industry standard technologies
with HTML,
PHP, MySQL, and ____________________________JavaScript.
Performing quality control and security re-enforcements to
gaming related
features.
Enhancing existing codebase to conquer scalability problems or
bottlenecks.
Optimizing database-driven functions involving enterprize level
activities
and updates
Qualifications:
4+ years experience with PHP and web development
2+ years of experience with MySQL
Familiar with Linux, ____________________________Javascript and DHTML
ActionScript a plus
Ability to work well under pressure and keep abreast of current
technologies
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills with
little supervision
