Urgen Help Require Regarding Web Develpment

i have given the task to make a web site of textile mill. I have knowlege of basic tools but i am little bit of confused about the selection of tools. That which tools are used at client side and which tools are used at server side. I also want to meat the future challenges so please tell me the Tools that can meat the future requirements and valueable in global market.
